Welcome to the Northeast Philly Initiative – Where no neighborhood is left behind!

This website was built out of the need to join the various neighborhoods together in Northeast Philadelphia to work together as one community. We want NortheastPhilly.org to be your main source for history, events, news, civic meetings, historic tours, and community information, all in one place. We know it’s difficult to keep track of everything on various social networks, pages, groups, newsletters, emails, and more. By hosting all of the content here in one place, this should facilitate the sharing of information much easier.

So feel free to browse our site by viewing our Events and News pages, as well as each neighborhoods’ personal page! We are all inclusive, and want every neighborhood to be a part of our initiative!

Additionally, we are sponsored by The King’s Highway Foundation whose mission is to educate the public on the history of Northeast Philadelphia, help preserve historic buildings, and spread awareness by engaging the community with special tours and themed events.

We look forward to your suggestions, feedback, and any help you’d like to provide toward our goals!

Feel free to Contact Us here. And join our Facebook Group The Northeast Philly Initiative here.

We showed this Double Sycamore in the film as the only remaining marker of where the 1697 Holmesburg Grist Mill once was; As you can see in the old photos. Anyone who knows how to remove fallen trees, we could use your help. Please let us know if you can help us preserve the last remaining historic marker of the old mill by carefully removing the fallen tree! ...
